Grandparents

 

Grandparents Group

 

Young Parents Network recognizes that many of today's grandparents are actively involved in raising their grandchildren in varying degrees and that parenting best practices have changed over the years.

 

Services Offered

 

Prenatal
Grandparents are invited to attend our prenatal group with their prenatal daughter as a support person, especially if they plan to attend the birth of their grandchild. Group meetings are weekly.

 

Non-Prenatal
For grandparents that would like to attend group meetings to discuss parenting issues of interest and importance to them, group meetings are held the second Tuesday of every month from 6:00pm - 8:00pm. A light supper is provided at each group meeting.

 

Discussions are facilitated by a trained volunteer. Grandparents are also invited to attend quarterly family fun nights, provided for all YPN families.

 

Earning Points for the We Care Shop

 

All Grandparent Group participants earn points for the We Care Shop to spend on items provided. The We Care Shop is a collaborative community outreach project which benefits participants of all programs of the Young Parents Network.
