Healthy Beginnings
Young Parents Network's Prenatal program, "Healthy Beginnings," provides education and support to young women throughout their pregnancy.
Goals
The goal of the program is to help ensure the birth of a healthy baby. Young women can join as soon as they discover they are pregnant and can continue with YPN's parenting services until their child enters kindergarten.
Services Offered
Fathers and/or grandparents are invited to attend prenatal group with the expecting mother as a support person, especially if they plan to attend the birth of the child.
Healthy Beginnings offers weekly group meetings as well as home visitation.
Earning Points for the We Care Shop
All Healthy Beginnings participants earn points for the We Care Shop to spend on items provided. The We Care Shop is a collaborative community outreach project which benefits participants of all programs of the Young Parents Network.
