Cornerstone
Family Development Self-Sufficiency Grant
The Family Development Self-Sufficiency Grant (FaDSS) is one of the original 7 grants established by the Iowa General Assembly. It's purpose is to evaluate the effectiveness of family development services in assisting welfare recipients who are at risk of long-term welfare dependency in becoming self-sufficient.
Since 1988, the FaDSS programs have expanded to serving all 99 counties. Cornerstone, a program of Four Oaks, (an affiliate of YPN), has expanded from the original grant that served 50 families in Linn County to serving 285 families across 8 counties.
