We Care Shop
Since 1993 there has been a well kept secret in Cedar Rapids Iowa. Imagine a place where families could go and purchase new and gently used baby items such as strollers, cribs, toys, and even the always much needed diapers and formula. Not only can they purchase these things, they do so with points they earn for participating in programming to better themselves and their children. This place is called the We Care Shop.
This incentive project was developed to allow families to earn points in a variety of ways; attending group meetings, going to prenatal visits, receiving their high school diploma or GED, getting their child immunized on schedule, attending promise jobs appointments, completing home visits, accessing counseling, and many other healthy behavior choices for themselves and their families. The points are then taken to the We Care Shop and used to purchase much needed items for their families. Items purchased at the We Care Shop free up limited family resources for other necessary expenses.
